Q. Does the School Breakfast Program (SBP) cost anything?
A. The School Breakfast Program is free. All the School Breakfast Program products are donated to the school.
All donated products comply with the Department of Education's Healthy Food and Drink Policy.
Q. What foods are available through the School Breakfast Program?
A. Shelf stable (non-perishable) products: - Canned fruit in natural syrup - Wheat biscuits - Vegemite - Canned spaghetti - Baked beans - UHT milk
Where possible, we make the following fresh produce available to schools: - Bread - Fresh fruit & vegetables - Fresh Milk - Yoghurt
Q. How does it work for schools in remote WA?
A. Upon submitting the Remote Order Form, remote schools will receive a term pack, which are typically sent out in the first few weeks of term. A ’term’ pack consists of canned fruit, wheat biscuits, vegemite, canned spaghetti, baked beans & UHT milk. Subject to availability, a quantity of bread, fresh produce and oats can also be ordered at no cost. A standard term pack weighs approximately 300kg, and will feed 24 students, 5 times per week for 5 weeks. Different quantities to suit larger or smaller schools can be arranged through Foodbank WA.
Q. Can our school purchase any other products?
A. Yes. Other products available at Foodbank WA can be purchased for the handling fee of $0.75/kg . All purchases from Foodbank WA by School Breakfast Program schools must comply with the WA Department of Education's Healthy Food and Drink Policy.
